Eligibility and Waiting Period Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for benefits. Part-time employees receive benefits on a pro-rated basis. The definition of a part-time employee is someone who works more than 39 hours but less than 72 hours in a two week pay period. There is a 90-day waiting period for all benefits except the 403(b) regular or Roth retirement savings plans. Employees can enroll in either of the 403(b) plans upon date of hire. Management personnel have a 30-day waiting period for health, dental, vision and life insurance plans only. Medical, Prescription, Vision and Dental Medical, prescription and vision insurance coverage is provided through Anthem/Blue Cross of California (PPO). Dental coverage is provided through Principal Insurance. The premium paid by employees is withheld from each bi-weekly paycheck. Levels of available coverage are: employee only, employee and child(ren), employee and spouse, and employee and family. Part-time employees pay a slightly higher premium than full-time employees.
