COLUSA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, The first baby born in the year 2006 at Colusa Regional Medical Center was born Sunday, January 1, 2006 at 3:34 a.m. Felix Ignacio Gutierrez Magana, son of Alma Alicia Magana and Ricardo Cesar Gutierrez from Colusa, weighed 9 pounds and 15 ounces, and measured 22 inches long. Mother and son are doing well according to family physician, Dr. Julian Delgado.
“We look forward to the birth of the first baby every year, and it was a special treat to help them share photos of their newborn with loved ones on the hospital website,” said Dale Kirby, president CRMC. “I can’t think of a better way to start the year.”
“This was our first baby and we were very excited and anxious,” remarked Alma Alicia. “The nurses were very supportive and caring and helped make me comfortable and before I was discharged, they gave me information on how to care for our baby at home,” she continued. “We are very happy with the care we received at CRMC," said Alma Alicia.
Colusa Regional Medical Center delivered 251 babies last year.
