COLUSA REGIONAL MEDICAL
CENTER,
"The Colusa Regional Medical Center’s flu shot clinics provided 828 immunizations this winter and substantially increased the number of sites", said Dale Kirby, CRMC Chief Executive Officer. Clinic sites and the number of shots given at each were: Arbuckle, 108; Stonyford, 69; Williams, 89; Maxwell, 73; Princeton, 39; Grimes, 8; Arbuckle school employees, 25; Colusa Casino employees, 145; Sacramento River Fire Department, 16; Colusa Fire Department, 9; Colusa Linen Supply staff, 8; Burchfield, Egling and Our Lady of Lourdes employees, 28. Immunizations also were provided to 127 CRMC employees, physicians and contract employees; 14 to Hospital Auxiliary members; and 70 at the CRMC drive-by clinic. Mary Jane Tait, RN and coordinator of CRMC’s flu shot program said, “These vaccinations would not have been possible without the help of all the local volunteers in each town and many hospital employees, as well. We would like to thank those who made sites available and treated us so graciously: Stonyford New Town Hall, Princeton Library, Williams Methodist Church, Maxwell Fire Hall and the Arbuckle Fire Hall.” “Thanks also goes to Wanda Smead, CNA; Kate Cook, RN; Sherrie Correa, LVN; Eileen Davenport, LVN; Catrina Vaca, Clinic Manager; and Alaine Mills, Activities Director and others too numerous to mention. More than 55 hours were donated by hospital staff to this project this year.” Those who assisted in obtaining sites were Fire Chief Casey Cox and Genevieve Martinez of Arbuckle; Gladys Lund of Maxwell, Etta Higgins of Williams, Ruth Hackleberg of Stonyford, Mary Massa of Princeton and Roseanne Ellis of Grimes. “I want to express my thanks to all for such an outstanding job.” Tait said. “This program would not have been possible without the free vaccine provided to us for the outlying clinics from the Colusa County Public Health Department and Jo Corbin, RN, coordinator of the vaccination program for the county. And, lastly, to our CRMC Pharmacy Director, Charles Mills, and his assistant, Alice Winters.”
