CRMC HOME HEALTH AGENCY RECEIVES A GRANT

The Paulsen Family Fund of the Sacramento Regional Community Foundation has awarded a grant for $20,200.00 to Colusa Regional Medical Center’s Home Health Agency and Palliative Care Program.

“We would like to express our appreciation for this generous donation,” said Elizabeth Tennant, Director of the CRMC Home Health Agency. "The grant will provide medicine for our patients who do not have prescription coverage and that are unable to afford pain medication for a terminal illness.  The funds will also provide end of life respite care for families and/or caregiver’s of patients with a life-limiting illness who are without coverage and unable to afford a needed brief period of respite from care giving.” 

In cases where the patients do not have prescription coverage and are unable to afford pain medication, assistance is provided through generous donations from the community and funding made possible through organizations like Sacramento Regional Foundation’s Paulsen Family Fund. 

Tennant said, “Colusa Regional Medical Center’s Home Health Agency has been providing home health services to our community since 1986.  CRMC’s Home Health Agency provided a wide range of services during the past year to more than 150 members of our community who may have otherwise gone without nursing care, medications or medical equipment.”  She continued,  “Our team of caring home health care professionals provide a wide range of services such as skilled nursing, medical social work, psychiatric nursing, occupational, speech  and physical therapy, skilled nursing care for new mothers after delivery, and end of life care all in the privacy and comfort of the patient’s home.”

Home Health Care and Palliative Care services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Services are based on each patient’s individual needs as determined by a clinical health professional working with the patient’s physician.
