Dr. Samuel Medrano elected as Chief of Staff

DR. SAMUEL MEDRANO HEADS CRMC MEDICAL STAFF

Samuel Medrano, MD, has been elected Chief of Staff of the Colusa Regional Medical Center’s Medical Staff. He succeeds Antonio Balatbat, MD, who was named Secretary-Treasurer. Michael Goodman, MD, was elected Vice Chief of Staff and Nelson Kaneishi MD, was elected Member at Large.

Dr. Medrano resides in Chico with his wife, Lupe, and their two children. Dr. Medrano attended U.C. Berkeley as an undergraduate and received his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He underwent residency training at U.C. Davis Medical Center in the field of General Surgery.

He has been a member of the medical staff of CRMC since October, 1992. Dr. Medrano passed the American Association of Physician Specialties Board Certification in Emergency Medicine in January, 2005. He has served as the Medical Director of CRMC Emergency Department since December, 1994.

CRMC Medical Staff Officers serve on the Medical Executive Committee, the policy-making and oversight body for the Medical Staff. This committee holds the Medical Staff accountable to the CRMC Board of Directors for the quality of medical care rendered to patients at CRMC. They also serve as liaison between Medical Staff members and the CRMC Board of Directors and Administration.
