Colusa Regional Medical Center, Caring for Our Community

CRMC FOUNDATION Recognizes the Newest Members
of the Legacy Society at their Annual Meeting

Three Colusa County families were recognized May 9th at the Colusa Regional Medical Center’s Annual Meeting for their contributions of over $10,000 and membership in the Foundation’s Legacy Society.

Rick and Joan Rockwell join the distinguished group of community members who, with their gift of over $10,000, are part of CRMC Foundation's Legacy Society.  Rick explained that he and Joan just wanted to give something back to the community after he sold Rick’s Freezette and retired.  “I wanted to find a way to help as many people as I could because it was the community support that allowed me to operate Rick’s for over forty years.  I figured giving to the hospital would benefit many people over and over again.”  Rick is shown here standing in front of the Foundation Donor Wall.

Also joining the Legacy Society for their very generous gift were Jon and Colleen Wrysinski.  Colleen reports that she enjoys serving as a Foundation Board Member and helping the hospital.  “My mom was a nurse so I was exposed early to helping people.   And the hospital has been very good about taking care of my very active kids.”  Daughter, Renee is shown here receiving a CT Scan after a recent fall while running after her big brother.

Also recognized for their ongoing generous financial support of the work of the Foundation were Fritz Strain and his wife, Duane.    All honorees will receive a framed copy of the photo by renowned, local artist David Rosen entitled, “Russian River Kenai, Alaska”

According to Dave Zwald, Foundation President, “It is community supporters like these Colusa County families who have helped keep this hospital alive and thriving for 130 years.  It was the community who stepped forward 6 years ago to raise the funds to buy the hospital from previous ownership and bring it out of bankruptcy into its current solvency.  The hospital is now on stable footing and is able to enjoy recent upgrades in furnishings and medical equipment along with the new Medical Arts Buildings and new Urgent Care Center in Williams.

With the continued support from the community, CRMC will continue to grow and expand services and service areas.  We want to thank all the members of the Foundation who have given so generously of their time and resources.”
