Blood Energy Sweat Talent Classes! Classes! Instructor, Loraine McBurney, has opened the second round of B.E.S.T. classes at all four high schools in the county – Pierce, Williams, Colusa and Maxwell with an enrollment of 60+ students. Williams High School has several students enrolled for a second-tier hour of enhanced learning for medical terminology and workplace etiquette. Colusa County One-Stop will again host B.E.S.T. students for a day-long training of CPR and first aid. From the first B.E.S.T. classes, several students continue to work at their job assignments, which finish September 30. These jobs are funded by One-Stop and have provided an opportunity for learning and earning. We have received very positive feedback about the students’ work quality and participation. Congratulations to these outstanding students. A noteworthy fact: Dr. Angela Fairchilds, President, Woodland Community College reports for the first time in the history of offering Biology in Colusa County the class is full. There is speculation this is due to the B.E.S.T. program raising awareness and interest in healthcare careers. On behalf of the entire collaborative, thank you! The B.E.S.T. program is hosted by Colusa Regional
